Activewear Packaging and Labeling

Packaging is the last thing decided and the first thing a customer touches. It is also where compliance failures happen, because care labelling rules differ by market and marketplaces enforce them.

The label set

Woven or printed main label carries your brand and is usually placed at the centre back neck. Care label carries fibre content, washing instructions and origin, and in most markets must be permanently attached.

Size label sits either with the main label or at the side seam. Hangtags carry price, barcode and marketing copy depending on channel. Any of these can be branded to your artwork.

Care labelling by market

The EU requires fibre composition in the local language of the member state where it sells, with defined tolerance rules. The US requires fibre content, country of origin and care instructions under FTC rules. The UK and Australia have their own phrasing expectations.

Getting this wrong is not a cosmetic issue — a retailer can reject a shipment, and a marketplace can delist a listing. Tell us the destination market before labels are printed, and we will produce the label content to the correct standard for that market.

Polybags and retail readiness

A plain polybag with a size sticker is the cheapest option and is fine for a 3PL that will repack. A printed header card, a branded sticker and a folded garment cost more per unit and let the product go straight onto a shelf or into a customer's hands without rework.

If you are selling on a marketplace, check whether that channel requires a suffocation warning, a specific barcode format, or a polybag transparency rule. Those requirements are easier to build in at production than to add at a fulfilment centre.

Carton marks and shipping to a 3PL

Cartons can be marked to your specification: SKU, colour, size run, quantity per carton, and any barcode your warehouse scans on receipt. A carton that is marked correctly is received in minutes; one that is not sits in a receiving bay.

If you ship directly to a 3PL or an Amazon fulfilment centre, send us their receiving requirements before production. Size-run packing, carton weight limits and label placement are all specified by those operators and are much easier to follow than to correct.

What we need from you

Label artwork, the destination market, the channel (own site, retail, marketplace), and any receiving requirements from your warehouse. From that we will produce a packaging specification for your approval before bulk, covering every label, bag and carton mark.

Frequently asked

QCan you print our own labels and hangtags? +
Yes, to your artwork. Send print-ready files and the destination market so the care content is written to the right standard.
QWho decides the care label wording? +
We produce it to the destination market standard, and you approve it. Rules differ between the EU, US, UK and Australia, so the market must be known before printing.
QCan garments ship ready for retail? +
Yes — printed header bags, branded stickers, folded and size-labelled. It costs more per unit and removes repacking at your end.
QCan you pack to a 3PL or marketplace requirement? +
Yes, if you send their receiving spec before production. Size-run packing, carton limits and label placement are all easier to build in than to fix later.
QDo you offer recycled packaging? +
Recycled and recyclable polybag options are available. Confirm the requirement at quotation so it is included in the specification.
