Low MOQ Activewear Manufacturer
Most factories price small brands out of the market with a 1,000-piece minimum per colour. We build small first orders so a new label can reach market without sinking its whole budget into inventory.
What actually drives a minimum
Minimums are not arbitrary. They come from fabric mill minimums per colour, dye-lot setup, cutting table efficiency and the cost of stopping a line to change over. A style in one colour can run at a far lower minimum than the same style in five colours.
That is why the practical advice is: fewer colours, deeper quantities per colour. Three colours at 300 pieces each is usually cheaper per unit than five colours at 180.
How to keep a first order small and still get quality
Start with stock-supported fabric rather than a custom dye lot. Choose two or three styles instead of a full range. Accept a slightly longer window so your order can be scheduled alongside larger runs rather than jumping the queue.
None of that lowers the inspection standard. A 300-piece order goes through the same measurement checks and final inspection as a 3,000-piece order.
Where small orders get expensive
Custom fabric development, Pantone dyeing for a colour the mill does not stock, and elaborate packaging are the three things that blow up a small order. If budget is tight, spend it on fabric hand-feel and fit rather than on custom polybags.
Sampling cost is separate and typically not refundable against bulk on small runs. Ask for the sample fee and whether it is credited at a certain quantity before you approve.
A realistic first-collection plan
Two styles, two colours, XS–XL, stock fabric, standard labelling. Sell through, read the returns and the fit feedback, then scale the winner and drop the rest. This is how most brands we work with actually get to a repeat order.
Tell us your budget and target retail price and we will tell you honestly which spec is achievable inside it.
